Canada’s PMRA Proposes New Pesticide Fee Schedules
The Canadian Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) has proposed a new pesticide registration fee schedule to reflect the “more complex and global” nature of the work involved in application review. Canada’s CFIA No Longer Requires Efficacy Data for Fertilizer Registration
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has made substantial changes to the Fertilizers Regulations by focusing on product safety and discontinuing regulatory oversight for fertilizer and supplement efficacy and quality. The changes will no longer require market efficacy assessment and verification of performance claims, and CFIA will cease marketplace monitoring of product quality and efficacy. Canadian Disinfectant Draft Guidance Document Open for 60-day Comment Period
Health Canada has announced the release of Draft Guidance Document: Disinfectant Drugs (2013) for a 60-day stakeholder consultation. The guidance document was developed to better assess safety and efficacy requirements of antimicrobial agents and increase harmonization with U.S. EPA. The first group of 67 chemicals identified for Tier 1 Endocrine Disruptor Screening Program (EDSP) includes 58 pesticide active ingredients and nine High Production Volume (HPV) chemicals used as pesticide inert ingredients.
